Call for Papers

EnergyOcean 2008 is now accepting abstracts for presentation in Galveston, June 24-26, 2008.

Once again, the first day of the conference will feature a U.S. Focus Session followed by two days of U.S. and International technical presentations.

Day 1: We would like to hear from U.S. Agencies (FERC, DOE, MMS, NOAA, USACE, etc.) who have responsibilities in the approvals of ocean energy projects offshore. Of special interest would be presentations by coastal state agencies (CA, FL, HI, MA, MN, NJ, NY, OR, WA, etc.) or groups who are planning projects off their coastlines and from EPRI on their progress in ocean energy research. And finally, we would like to hear from utilities who are planning to purchase energy generated from ocean energy projects or who plan on funding studies or projects.

Day 2 & 3: We are particularly interested in presentations on in-progress or completed pilot projects in all areas of ocean energy, as well as projects that are planned for installation in the near future. We would also like to hear from commercial developers and universities who have mature technology and firm plans to implement these technologies in the near future. In addition, we would like to hear presentations from engineering, construction, environmental, legal and financial firms, involved in helping implement ocean energy projects.

STEP 1: Submit an Abstract— Attach your 100 – 200 word abstract to the registration form below. There is no deadline for abstract submission, however, there are a limited number of presentations accepted for this event, and consideration will be handled on a first-come basis.
